Students usually are very excited to study or presentate about their favorite animal. With this chart from classroom doodles, they can put information about: 
-Facts of the animal.
-Habitat.
-Information.
-Picture.
-Name. 

 This cover is the perfect activity for the first day, print one copy for each student and they can color it and then paste it on their copybooks. 

Esta guía de trabajo está desarrollada para primero básico y busca que los estudiantes apliquen lo aprendido sobre las necesidades de los seres vivos, comparándolos  con las características de la materia inerte. 

La presentación está destinada para trabajarla en 45 minutos de clases y aborda el concepto de reproducción de los seres vivos y las necesidades que tienen para luego pasar a abordar el tipo de alimentación.    La última diapositiva indica trabajemos en el texto para que los estudiantes realicen páginas para aplicar lo aprendido. 

En esta actividad los alumnos deberán comparar materiales según sus propiedades: flexible, impermeable, transparencia, dureza, etc.

Para esto hay que tenerles diversos objetos de metal, de género, madera, plástico, vidrio, etc para que vayan completando su guía con la información.

Les gusta mucho la actividad y generalmente la trabajo en parejas. 

Esta actividad, busca articular la asignatura de Ciencias Naturales  con la de Artes y Tecnología.
Se pide a los estudiantes  recortar por el contorno cada estructura de la planta y luego pegarla en una cartulina indicando su nombre correspondiente. 
Con esto también se trabaja la motricidad.

Evaluación de Ciencias Naturales para primero básico.  
Una vez que los estudiantes pudieron explorar y observar su entorno a través de los sentidos para distinguir los seres vivos de la materia inerte.   Se realiza   una evaluación sumativa donde  deben  aplicar sus conocimientos para reconocer las necesidades de los seres vivos, comparan los seres vivos con las  cosas no vivas,   ilustran  objetos no vivos que encontramos en la naturaleza. 

Exploring the topic of 5 senses is amazing! There is so much to do!
That's why, I am leaving an assessment that you can also use as a project or activity in class. 
The idea is that you make 5 groups in your class, each group with a different sense. They have to complete the information and decorate it as they want.

Go outside and explore!!!
I love to take my students out, to another classroom or a different teaching stage. The idea is to go wherever you want and try to find different objects that are made of those materials. There are some objects that they might not be sure, but it doesn't matter, just what they think!
Before they go to a place, make sure there are objects for every material, and if not, place some in different locations.

At the end of the class, discuss with them what they found.

This is a small experiment/lab you can use to work on the effects of water on different materials!
Before starting the experiment, you can also show other objects that are not in the worksheet and ask what they think it will happen, and then actually showing them what happens. Then, explain what they have to do in the experiment so they can work on it.
