The objective of this worksheet is for students to identify characteristics of different habitats, so they can match each habitat with its description, to solve the crossword.

CN02 OA13: Measure some weather characteristics by building or using instruments such as wind vane, rain gauge and thermometer. 

Before doing this worksheet, it is suggested that, in a previous class, students can build a rain gauge (you can find a video that explains how to make a rain gauge in the following link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwo2XGBABpY ), so students can really experience the use of this instrument. They really enjoy doing it, and they enjoy even more when they use it and learn how much rain fell during a day or during a week.

On this worksheet, students need to look at the weather, measure some of its characteristics and record it on the worksheet.

CN02 OA12: Recognize and describe some weather characteristics and conditions, such as precipitation, wind and temperature, among others, and also some instruments to measure weather.

Students observe the pictures, they recognize different weather conditions and instruments, and complete the crossword with the corresponding words, according to the pictures. They must use vocabulary learnt during the unit.

CN02 OA11: Describe the water cycle in nature, recognizing water as a valuable resource and purposing actions they can take to protect water.

This worksheet is useful for students to do a "round up" of everything they learnt during the unit, about the water cycle and its stages. It is also useful for students to reflect and purpose concrete actions they could take to save water. 

CN02 OA01: Observe, describe and classify vertebrate animals into mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles or fish, according to some of their characteristics, such as body covering, breathing structure, presence or absence of mammal glands, among others. 

CN02 OA02: Observe, describe and classify invertebrate animals into different groups, such as crustaceans, insects and arachnids, and compare them with vertebrate animals.

This is an assessment on which students have to apply what they learnt about vertebrate and invertebrate animals, by searching for examples on magazines, newspapers or internet, and classify them according to whether they have or not a backbone. They also need to classify vertebrates into mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and fish, and invertebrates into crustaceans, insects and arachnids, relating each of these groups with to different colours.

CN02 OA10: Identify and compare different states of matter; solid, liquid and gas. 

This idea was taken from Pinterest. Students use any material they have at home, such as cereal, clay, buttons, etc, and paste them to represent how particles look like on each state of matter. Then, they give examples and draw them on the second part of the worksheet.

Luego, tendrán que además clasificarlos de acuerdo a si son mamíferos, reptiles, anfibios, aves, peces, insectos, arácnidos o crustáceos. Cada grupo está relacionado con un color.

CN02 OA02: Observar, describir y clasificar, por medio de la exploración, las características de los animales sin columna vertebral, como insectos, arácnidos, crustáceos, entre otros, y compararlos con los vertebrados.

Esta es una buena actividad para comenzar con investigación guiada. el objetivo es que los alumnos busquen información sobre los crustáceos, ya sea en internet, en sus apuntes personales, en libros, etc., y completen el organizador gráfico con dicha información.
