The evaluation is the first part of two, which has 20 multiple choice question that covers a wide range of topics in population ecology, including:
  • Community diversity and abundance: Questions 1 and 2 assess students' understanding of these concepts.
  • Population growth and density: Questions 3 and 5 assess students' understanding of these concepts.
  • Population dispersion: Questions 6 and 7 assess students' understanding of this concept.
  • K-strategist vs. r-strategist species: Questions 8 and 9 assess students' understanding of these concepts.
  • Age distribution of populations: Question 10 assesses students' understanding of this concept.
  • Interspecific interactions: Questions 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 assess students' understanding of these concepts.
Overall, the evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of students' understanding of the key concepts in population ecology.

In celebration of Earth Day, I'm excited to share with you a fun and engaging activity that you can use with your students to promote environmental awareness and action. This Earth Day Bucket List is designed to inspire students to take meaningful steps towards caring for our planet while having fun along the way.

The Earth Day Bucket List contains a variety of eco-friendly activities that students can choose from to complete on or leading up to Earth Day. These activities range from simple everyday actions to more hands-on projects, allowing students to tailor their participation based on their interests and abilities. Whether it's planting a tree, organizing a community clean-up, or starting a compost bin, there's something for everyone to get involved in.

How to Use:
  1. Download the Earth Day Bucket List PDF 
  2. Share the PDF with your students and encourage them to choose activities they would like to complete.
  3. Students can either complete the activities independently or work together in groups, depending on your preference and classroom dynamics.
  4. As students complete each activity, they can document their progress by checking off the corresponding boxes on the bucket list.
  5. Students can also use the Canva link to create a copy of the Earth Day Bucket List template and customize it with their own ideas and reflections. This allows for greater personalization and creativity in their Earth Day initiatives.
By engaging students in this Earth Day Bucket List activity, we empower them to become active participants in environmental stewardship.

This is the second part of the Ecology evaluation. The open answer questions in this evaluation assess students' understanding of ecological interactions and the impact of introduced species on native populations.
Students are asked to identify four ecological interactions present in the Cerros Isla ecosystem and describe each interaction, mentioning the species participating in each case. This question assesses students' ability to identify and describe the different types of ecological interactions that can occur between species.
Students are then asked to explain one of the ecological interactions present in the text, indicating whether the interaction is positive, neutral, or negative for each participant. This question assesses students' ability to apply their knowledge of ecological interactions to real-world examples.
Next, students are asked to explain two ways in which introduced species alter native populations, including their knowledge of ecological interactions in their answer. This question assesses students' ability to understand the complex ways in which introduced species can interact with native species and impact native populations.
Finally, students are asked to give one example of an introduced invasive species and explain its impact on native flora and/or fauna. This question assesses students' ability to identify and describe the impact of introduced invasive species on native ecosystems.
Overall, the open answer questions in this evaluation provide a comprehensive assessment of students' understanding of ecological interactions and the impact of introduced species on native populations.

The learning objective is to explain, based on evidence, that the classification of the diversity of organisms is built over time based on taxonomic criteria that allow them to be organised into groups and subgroups, identifying their kinship relationships with common ancestors.
This lesson contains one activity in the beginning to rise previous knowledge about how organisms are classified. Afterwards, concepts like Taxonomy, Biodiversity and Classification are defined in order to understand how they are classified and the objective if this. The structure of Scientific Names is presented with some examples. Then, the classification is explained (Domain, Kingdom, Phylum, etc.) with the human example. Finally, a closure activity is presented in order to evaluate which taxonomies are more related in order to compare the criteria.

No he utilizado el recurso con los estudiantes, pero debo decir que el PDF esta bien organizado, objetivos claros, y actividades acorde al tema con la información justa y necesaria; esta muy bonito, hermoso trabajo. Lo unico es que contiene un link el cual ya no esta disponible, pero de todas maneras son 5 estrellas. ¡se pasó!

El respeto por el entorno comienza en el hogar, y también en la escuela. El recinto escolar contiene elementos del medio ambiente natural, el medio construido y el entorno social: tierra, plantas y árboles, insectos y vida silvestre, el sol y la sombra, el abastecimiento de agua y las instalaciones sanitarias, los senderos y los cercados, los espacios para el esparcimiento y el estudio, la vida social y los contactos con el mundo exterior. La concienciación de los niños sobre estos entornos y la manera en que aprendan a tratarlos les ayudará a convertirse en adultos responsables. Los proyectos que mejoran los terrenos de la escuela crean conciencia y orgullo y refuerzan la reputación de la escuela en la comunidad. Todos los años, el plan del huerto debería incluir mejoras en el entorno, aunque sean pequeñas.
