This is a Reading Comprehension worksheet that includes 2 fictional texts. It also includes explicit and implicit questions that students need to answer. Each question has a color asigned, so students can underline with that color and find all the information they need in the text.

Esta clase fue diseñada para el fácil entendimiento del proceso que pasa la luz al dividirse y crear colores cuando pasa a través de un prisma o algún elemento que funja como este. Como cierre de clase hay una actividad en donde los niños aprenderán a través de practica como ocurre el proceso de absorción de los colores.

Clase diseñada con una explicación fácil y sencilla en donde los niños entenderán el proceso de como viaja la luz a través de un prisma o algún elemento que funja cómo este. Al final de la presentación encontraran una hoja de trabajo en donde el alumno podrá entender de manera práctica la absorción de los colores.

Objective: Understand the importance of bees for the ecosystems.

Students watch "The Bee Movie", which can be found in Netflix. They can watch it during Science class and discuss about it while watching, or they can watch it at home (as homework) and discuss about it the next class. It depends on the teacher.

The idea of this activity is for students to develop critical thinking by reflecting and discussing about the environmental function of bees. After watching the movie and discussing as a class, students answer this assessment to show their understanding about the importance of bees as pollinators, and purpose actions to protect them. There are only open questions, because the idea is for children to reflect, think further and express their ideas in a coherent way.

Activity: The little prince

Objective: To create a space for reflection

Bear in mind: This material is a powerpoint presentation, which contains: Reflection questions taking into account key elements addressed during the book

CN03 OA08: Identify natural and artificial sources of light, and classify objects according to these criteria.

CN03 OA09: Investigate through experimentation to explain some characteristics and properties of light, such as traveling in a straight line, capacity to reflect and refract, separation in seven colours, among others.

CN03 OA10: Investigate through experimentation to explain some characteristics and properties of sound, such as traveling in waves and in all directions, reflection, absorption, pitch, volume, among others.


This is a project to be done during all the unit of light and sound. The idea is for students to do experiments and discuss them as a class, to discover some properties of light and sound. They also should search for information in different sources (such as videos, Power Points, their notes, books, etc.), in order to complete the flipbook. The flipbook would be a final project, to be delivered at the end of the unit. 

Especially for young learners, this process needs to be very guided and it is important to give constant feedback to students, to evaluate the learning process. 

An evaluation guideline is included in the flipbook.

Activity: Cyberbullying
 

Objective: To raise awareness and share good practices to stop it

Note: This material is a powerpoint presentation, which contains:

-  Initial activity of myth or truth 

-  Closing the activity with a short reflection

CN02 OA11: Describe the water cycle in nature, recognizing water as a valuable resource and purposing actions they can take to protect water.

This worksheet is useful for students to do a "round up" of everything they learnt during the unit, about the water cycle and its stages. It is also useful for students to reflect and purpose concrete actions they could take to save water.
