CN03 OA08: Identify natural and artificial sources of light, and classify objects according to these criteria.

CN03 OA09: Investigate through experimentation to explain some characteristics and properties of light, such as traveling in a straight line, capacity to reflect and refract, separation in seven colours, among others.

CN03 OA10: Investigate through experimentation to explain some characteristics and properties of sound, such as traveling in waves and in all directions, reflection, absorption, pitch, volume, among others.


This is a project to be done during all the unit of light and sound. The idea is for students to do experiments and discuss them as a class, to discover some properties of light and sound. They also should search for information in different sources (such as videos, Power Points, their notes, books, etc.), in order to complete the flipbook. The flipbook would be a final project, to be delivered at the end of the unit. 

Especially for young learners, this process needs to be very guided and it is important to give constant feedback to students, to evaluate the learning process. 

An evaluation guideline is included in the flipbook.

CN02 OA2: Identify, describe and classify characteristics of invertebrate animals, such as insects, arachnids and crustaceans, among others, and compare them with vertebrate animals. 

This worksheet is a good chance to begin with guided investigation. The idea is for students to research about crustaceans and complete the graphic organizer with the information they find. They don't necessarily need to research in books or in the internet, but they may also use worksheets, videos and Power Points from their 
Science lessons or their Science notebook to look for the information. It depends on the kind of activity the teacher wants to use it for.

Este proyecto es increíble para cerrar la Unidad 1 de Geografía. El objetivo es sintetizar todos los aprendizajes sobre este tema en una presentación y exposición oral.
La idea es dividir al curso en grupos y cada uno escoja una zona natural a investigar para explicar los aspectos más relevantes de ese lugar.
Luego, se presenta esta información en una presentación de power point o en un papelógrafo.

Les dejo esta rúbrica para evaluar el proyecto de cierre de la Unidad 1 de Geografía. El objetivo es sintetizar todos los aprendizajes sobre este tema en una presentación y exposición oral.
Con esta rúbrica, los alumnos estarán en conocimiento de lo que se espera de ellos y lo que debe tener su trabajo. Por otro lado, el profesor podrá hacer una evaluación objetiva sobre el proyecto.
