There are many  activities which allow students to practice and develop many reading-related skills. They are great for developing comprehension which is one of the most important reading skills. Many of the activities also call for higher-order thinking, like inferring or summarizing.
With his resource from Pinterest, students can synthesize the information about stories or even to study chapetrs of novels. 

This character profile organizer from Pinterest is a great way for students to record any information about the main and secondary characters of the story.
It includes a space for students to describe physically and psychologically the character and their role on the story.

How difficult is to make students excited to read the class novel? In my experience, they don't usually fall in love with the book immediatly. That's why I've been searching for different ways to start a novel study and I'd gathered my favorite 7 ways to accomplish it.  
This resource is helpful to engage students and make their novel study more attractive. 

When reading, students sometimes have a hard time organizing their ideas about the novel theiy're reading.
With this chart from Pinterest, is so much easier to organize the principal story elements, you can use it to study the novel or even to evaluate it. 

This book report template is my favorite for students to complete.
It includes space to draw the cover, to identify the author's and illustrator's name, a space to identify and describe characters and the setting of the story. Also, a space to write down the sequence of events in the story, a little chart for students to evaluate the book and to write their favorite event.

I used this activity for a character analysis, this could be used for any novel. What really engaged my students at first was the name of the activity. If you want to add more body parts you can or students could think of some.

Lanza y lee 🎲 (nivel 1)

¡Aprender a leer jugando! Esta es la primera colección de una serie de actividades de lecturas llama "lanza y lee" para aprender a leer jugando y pasándolo bien. 

¿Cómo se usa? El estudiante lanza un dado, lee la oración que le corresponde y cuando termine pinta el dado o pone una ficha sobre él. Luego de leer todas las fichas puede hacer diferentes actividades como escoger una oración y dibujarla, escribir su oración favorita en su cuaderno o crear su propia oración con la misma estructura. 

Esta colección de Nivel 1 cuenta con palabras de uso frecuente, vocabulario sencillo y estructuras predecidles ("me gustan", "yo soy") para facilitar la lectura en este nivel.

¡Aprender a leer nunca fue tan entretenido! Último recurso de nuestra colección "lanza y lee", y esta vez tenemos el Nivel 3 que cuenta con oraciones complejas, vocabulario nuevo y con diferentes temas (animales, estaciones del año, alimentos).

En esta sección es importante poder ir practicando la fluidez y la correcta lectura de palabras, sin presionar sobre la velocidad o rapidez. Siempre es importante priorizar a la calidad de la lectura sobre la cantidad de palabra que se leen.

Recuerda revisar la colección de Nivel 2 para preparar a tus alumnos al siguiente nivel.
