This class is about Directions.

First, we introduced each one of them and we practiced some movements altogether in order to help the memorization.

After that, we worked with maps and directions and students had to give specific directions in order to help the others get to different places. We did this several times and it was a total success.

Use this worksheet to practise directions and prepositions. Your students have to cut the pictures. Then, they will listen to your instructions and paste the pictures in the correct place. 

You can use this interactive PowerPoint either for distance learning or for face-to-face ones, especially if you've got a smartboard.
Some of the instructions are in Spanish, as some adults at home may have a hard time with English.

Learning Goal: To relate reference points such as mountain ranges, hills, and seas, to the cardinal directions.

Este power point puede ser utilizado en una clase de 45 minutos o mas para enseñar y practicar el uso de preposiciones para indicar lugar (next to, between, in front of) y a demás de palabras y frases para dar indicaciones de como llegar a un lugar, todo esto utilizando el mapa.
Es editable para que la puedas adaptar y agregar o quitar lo que quieras. 

Objective: Identify prepositions and cardinal directions.

Students identify prepositions to help the puppy find its house. They need to colour only the prepositions to create a path for the dog. Then, they identify which cardinal directions the puppy need to follow to get to its house.

Objective: Understand and follow written directions - Apply prepositions correctly.

Students look at the map and map key to understand the symbols. Then, they read the instructions and draw pictures on the map, correctly applying prepositions. This worksheet can be done individually by students, or it can be done together as a class, with the teacher's help, depending on the grade and level of autonomy of the class.

CN03 OA08: Identify natural and artificial sources of light, and classify objects according to these criteria.

CN03 OA09: Investigate through experimentation to explain some characteristics and properties of light, such as traveling in a straight line, capacity to reflect and refract, separation in seven colours, among others.

CN03 OA10: Investigate through experimentation to explain some characteristics and properties of sound, such as traveling in waves and in all directions, reflection, absorption, pitch, volume, among others.


This is a project to be done during all the unit of light and sound. The idea is for students to do experiments and discuss them as a class, to discover some properties of light and sound. They also should search for information in different sources (such as videos, Power Points, their notes, books, etc.), in order to complete the flipbook. The flipbook would be a final project, to be delivered at the end of the unit. 

Especially for young learners, this process needs to be very guided and it is important to give constant feedback to students, to evaluate the learning process.
