Daily Routine's are an excellent moment to build confidence and let our students express themselves a 100% in English. This is why I always use Mind Maps and choose one of my students (the "mini teacher") to guide the routine.

In this pdf you can find 3 routines. The three of them includes a presentation. the presentation of the book main character (Bobby Bear from the AMCO program), feelings (differnt feelings in each routine) and days of the week (today is, yestreday was, tomorrow will be). The first routine also includes the favorite color.

In this routine students have to present themselves, say how are they feeling (emphasis in the vocabulary words hungry and thirsty) and say how's the weather like.

Oral presentation - My Daily Routine

With this chart you can start your English Class (This idea is from AMCO, but the poster is original).

Students can use this to introduce theirselves (name, age and feelings), and also tell the class the day of the week and the weather

This is a very fun game that students enjoy a lot. The main objectives of this game are to remember vocabulary and to build trust (because students speak in English and gain confidence) in an enjoyable way.

To play, the teacher gives to some students one of the flashcards and asks one student to start. The student must say its color or shape and call another one. For example:
  • Student 1: Orange, orange, calling purple.
  • Student 2: Purple, purple, calling yellow.
  • Student 3: Yellow, yellow, calling pink.

This activity was an idea given by the English program AMCO. I have played this game with pre kinders, kinders, first graders and second graders. It was always a success.
