This file is very helpful when you start to work with bar models in the word problem resolution. Once you have practiced every bar model and the students understood how they work they can use this file, which it can be pasted on their copybook or table, to help them identify and build bar models.

A fun, dynamic and interactive activity to count the days at school and practice in a daily basis different ways of representing numbers.

Project this resource, either in an online or presential lesson.

This resource includes 9 different versions and a division to represent numbers bigger than 100 (hundreds, tens and ones) and another to represent numbers smaller than 100 (tens and ones).

9 different versions:
  • Number, word number, place value, bar model, number bonds, ten frames, comparing (<) and count 1 more and 1 less. 
  • Number, word number, place value, bar model, number bonds, ten frames, comparing (<) and count 5 more and 5 less.
  • Number, word number, place value, bar model, number bonds, ten frames, comparing (<) and count 10 more and 10 less.
  • Number, word number, place value, bar model, addition sentence, ten frames, comparing (<) and count 1 more and 1 less.  
  • Number, word number, place value, bar model, addition sentence, ten frames, comparing (<) and count 5 more and 5 less.
  • Number, word number, place value, bar model, addition sentence, ten frames, comparing (<) and count 10 more and 10 less.  
  • Number, word number, place value, bar model, addition and subtraction sentence, ten frames, comparing (<) and count 1 more and 1 less.  
  • Number, word number, place value, bar model, addition and subtraction sentence, ten frames, comparing (<) and count 5 more and 5 less.

You will receive a Power Point in which you will be able to interact and move little black circles to complete the ten frames.

This is a very fun way to introduce pictograph building. Gave each student a little bag of m&m's, skittles, chubis or whatever. Students have to classify them by colors and, according to that, build a pictograph and a bar graph. Then, interpret the data to answer some questions.
