Profe.Social Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 6, 2026

Profe Social SpA, Chile operates Profe.Social (profe.social), an educational-resource platform and teacher community. Contact [email protected] for privacy questions or requests.

1. Information collected

  • Account and profile: your name, email, username, profile picture and optional details such as biography, country, language, user type and interests. Profe.Social passwords are stored as hashes rather than readable passwords.
  • Activity and content: posts, comments, reviews, follows, collections, messages, searches, reads, downloads and ProfeCoin transactions.
  • Payments and payouts: transaction records and information needed for invoicing and payouts where applicable. Transactions also involve the payment providers you use.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser, device, pages visited, access dates, referral source and approximate connection location. We use cookies and similar technologies for sessions, security and usage measurement.

2. Google user data: access and use

If you choose Google sign-in, we request only basic email and profile permissions (userinfo.email and userinfo.profile). We receive your name, email address, profile picture and Google account identifier.

We use them to authenticate you, create an account or identify an existing account with the same email, associate your Google identity and initially populate your name and avatar. Your email is also used for account and service communications and, while your marketing subscription is active, Profe.Social resource updates and news. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link.

We do not request access to Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts or calendars. We do not receive your Google password. Google sign-in is optional; you can use email and password instead.

3. Service purposes

We use personal data to operate accounts and profiles, publish and discover resources, manage downloads and ProfeCoins, provide interactions and messages, send communications, offer support, prevent fraud and abuse, diagnose errors, understand platform usage and meet legal and accounting obligations.

4. Public information and sharing

Your name, username, avatar, biography and publicly posted content may be viewed by others. Messages are shown to conversation participants. Your email address and Google identifier are not displayed on your public profile.

Account information, including Google user data, is stored and processed on our infrastructure and by providers supporting hosting, file storage, email delivery, search, support and error diagnosis. Payment providers process information needed for your transactions. Providers may operate outside your country.

We do not sell data received from Google. Disclosures of Google user data to providers are limited to operating and maintaining Profe.Social features, not selling profiles or training general-purpose AI models. We may also disclose information when needed to comply with legal obligations or protect people's and the service's safety and rights.

5. Cookies and third-party services

The platform uses session and measurement cookies, browsing statistics, Google Tag Manager and advertising services when enabled. These services may collect technical browsing data under their own policies. You can manage cookies in your browser, but blocking session cookies may prevent login. Google sign-in does not grant these services additional Google account permissions.

6. Storage and security

Account data is stored in databases and images and files in storage services. Public access uses HTTPS. Authentication and access controls protect private and administrative features, and Profe.Social passwords are hashed. No transmission or storage system is completely secure.

7. Retention, deletion and your choices

We retain account data as needed to provide the service. Transaction, security and legal or accounting records may require additional retention. Account deletion does not immediately remove every transaction record or backup, nor copies downloaded or published outside the service.

You can edit your profile and delete your account after signing in, or request access, correction or deletion by emailing [email protected]. We may verify account ownership before acting on a request. Contact us for details about records that must be retained.

You can revoke Google access in your Google account connections. Revoking access does not automatically delete previously stored Profe.Social data; delete your account or contact us to request deletion. Marketing subscriptions can be cancelled without deleting your account.

8. Updates and contact

Updates will be published here with their effective date. We will notify affected users of material changes in the use of Google user data and request additional authorization where appropriate. Contact: [email protected], Profe Social SpA, Chile.
